Biography

After completing an internal medicine residency at Vanderbilt University, Dr. Soni completed a 3-year fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. This included basic science research on the mechanisms of lung injury from smoke inhalation. Dr. Soni joined Pulmonary Critical Care Specialists of Northern Virginia in 1991. He has a busy office practice offering care to patients with the full spectrum of pulmonary and sleep disorders.

Part of Dr. Soni’s time is devoted to caring for hospitalized patients. He has a special interest in diseases of the airway such as asthma and COPD. Dr. Soni takes pride in offering state of the art care to his patients with a warm, engaging manner, and he welcomes new patients.

Dr. Soni enjoys teaching and is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the VCU School of Medicine. He is also former Chief of Pulmonary Medicine at Inova Fair Oaks Hospital.
